The JUG is a simple product born from a keen understanding of market trends and aesthetic design. Many body builders and even regular gym goers often carry a plastic 1 gallon jug of water to stay hydrated during intense workout sessions. These plastic containers are often hard to clean, get dirty fast, and leach microplastics. What if there was an all stainless steel version of this idea? What if that stainless steel version had a large opening in the bottom for easy cleaning? Is something like that even manufacturable?

 Those were the questions the client posed to Bitar Machine Design. The general design phase was fairly easy, model a typical 1 gallon milk jug. The rest of the project was not so trivial. Hydroforming was initially considered however in the US this process is not well supported and there are very few manufacturers that can effectively hydroform such a shape.

Stamping was chosen and the product was developed as welded stamping. Bitar Machine Design employed our metal 3D printing capabilities to prototype the stamped halves in medical grade 316L stainless steel. This would allow us to replicate the manufacturing process during the development stage. The metal 3D printed parts were then welded and polished to what we call “demonstration quality”. We produced a 1 gallon and 1/2 gallon variant of this product.

The client has built a community around this product with their expert social media and advertising skills and have garnered great support and many pre-orders. Bitar Machine Design is also facilitating manufacturing for this product and together with Importivity we were able to find a capable manufacture to produce this product. Sales will start Q4 2026
